What to Expect 8 Weeks to Self Mastery Through the Gateway of Your Shadow
The Shadow Course will guide you through this process across 8 weeks of training, exercises, guided journaling and meditation. All students will have access to the course materials in perpetuity on our ManTalks training platform.
MODULE 1
Understanding Your Shadow
What exactly is the shadow, and how does it impact your life? When does it take control over you and why? In this first module, you’ll be introduced to the concept of the shadow and identify how your past has shaped it.
MODULE 2
Investigating The Origin of Your Shadow
Every shadow, has its own origin story and it continues to develop and grow within you over time. In this module, you’ll explore how the family systems and culture you grew up in — as well as the wounds that were created in that space — have shaped your shadow.
MODULE 3
Reactivity, Rejection & Avoidance
You’ll learn how to identify the origins of reactivity, or when the shadow is in your driver’s seat and ready to hijack, so you can maintain your cool, your boundaries, and your goals. I’ll teach you about periods of “deconstruction” when the shadow is most active. You’ll discover how surrendering to them — instead of resisting them — can actually initiate you into who you want to become.
MODULE 4
Meeting & Disarming Your Inner Critic and Saboteur
The Shadow personifies as your inner critic. In this module, you’ll learn how to confront your inner critic and have a constructive conversation with it so you can move from harmful self-loathing, to healthy self-evaluation.
MODULE 5
Working With Your Anger
In this module, you’ll explore the four primary types of anger: Explosive, Implosive, Fused, and Foreign. By understanding anger, you prevent it from hijacking you during heated moments or situations. Your goal is to move towards Embodied Clean Anger — a space where you’re able to have grounded communication, and honor your boundaries as well as others’.
MODULE 6
The Shadow In Relationships
You’ll identify the ways your shadow sabotages your relationships, through behaviors such as shutting down, becoming avoidant, getting clingy or feeling dependent. You’ll also learn how to move past sexual shame or disempowering fears that are blocking you from experiencing true intimacy and connection.
MODULE 7
Leveraging The Shadow To Uncover Your Potential
Your shadow is a space from which you can derive motivation, creativity, inspiration and empowerment. I’ll teach you to understand how you can use its powers to work in your favor so you can heal your relationship with discipline and develop a devotion towards yourself.
MODULE 8
Integration — Returning to Wholeness
To integrate and manage your shadow, you need to nurture your inner child, the part of your psyche that is still childlike and dependent. It’s also the gateway to healing any psychological trauma, dysfunctional patterns, and self-harming behaviors you may have developed growing up. Deep inside, your inner child is still reliant on the parenting that you received back then to guide them — and you — on how to safely function in life.
In the final module, you’ll learn how to parent yourself and resolve these issues of blame, shame and guilt that reside in your subconscious so that you can integrate your shadow. ascend beyond its harrowing grip, and return to wholeness.

Shadow work isn’t about canceling unpleasant emotions and skipping “negative energy” so you can fluff things up and stay
